Why Modi's visit to the US is significant?

Minister S Jaishankar stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to
the United States is significant because he will be the only Indian prime
minister to address a joint session of the US Congress twice. Thus, it will be
the first occasion. Only Winston Churchill and Nelson Mandela are two global
figures who have accomplished this amazing achievement.

PM Modi will embark on
his first state visit to the United States from June 21 to June 24 at the
invitation of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. He
received an invitation from US congressional leaders to address a joint session
of the House and Senate, on June 22nd.
PM Modi is the third
Indian leader in travelling to the US on an official state visit. The last two
visits to the state were made by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was president, in
June 1963, and Manmohan Singh, who was prime minister, in November 2009.
