Siraj simply blasted the top off the opposition's batting order by getting four wickets in the fourth over alone after Jasprit Bumrah had already taken a wicket off the third ball.

With his five-wicket haul in the first six over of the game, Mohammed Siraj was able to bring Sri Lanka to their knees.

The Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka was subsequently despatched, giving him a five-wicket haul in just his second over. At 12/6 in 5.4 overs, Sri Lanka was in trouble as a result.

Siraj went on to produce statistics of 6/21, the best by any bowler in an ODI against Sri Lanka, adding to the nightmare for the home team. By taking two consecutive wickets in the first two balls of the 16th over, Hardik Pandya finished with three wickets and ended Sri Lanka's innings.

The second-lowest ODI score ever for Sri Lanka was 50 when they were all out. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill batted for India in the first two overs, adding 32 runs together in just three overs. They persisted and finished off the score in the seventh over, giving India a margin of victory of 10 wickets and 263 balls.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka decided to bat first.. Rain, however, ultimately caused a 40-minute delay in the start of the game. Despite missing almost all of their frontline bowlers, a combination of experienced part-timers and young bowlers had made scoring against Sri Lanka challenging, but players like Kusal Mendis had delivered with the bat.
