In the meanwhile Kejriwal announced his resignation from the post of Chief Minister amid allegations of corruption against him and said that he will not accept this post until the "public gives him a certificate of honesty".
Kejriwal will resign tomorrow
After the announcement of CM Kejriwal's resignation, several meetings are held today, including the meeting of the Political Affairs Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to elect the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Names to be approved for new CM
While AAP leaders said that senior party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia reached his official residence to discuss with Kejriwal on the possible names for the post of Chief Minister. The meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of AAP is going to be held in the evening at the residence of the Chief Minister of Delhi. Among the possible contenders for the post of Chief Minister, the names of Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birlan, AAP chief Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal, Delhi government ministers Atishi, Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kailash Gehlot are in the race.
Meeting with LG VK Saxena fixed
Though Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced that he will resign from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi within 24 hours. According to AAP, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has sought time to meet LG VK Saxena. According to the report, CM Kejriwal will meet LG VK Saxena at 4:30 pm on tomorrow. As by the sources, there will be a meeting between Delhi LG VK Saxena and CM Arvind Kejriwal at the LG Secretariat tomorrow at 4.30 pm. In the meanwhile there is every possibility that Arvind Kejriwal will resign.

Delhi elections in February next year
However Kejriwal had demanded that the elections in Delhi be held in November along with the Maharashtra elections. Former Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia has also said that he will go among the people and will return to the top post only after winning the election again. This means that the top leaders of AAP are not in the race for the post of Chief Minister. Even though this tenure of the Chief Minister's post will be only for a few months, the AAP leadership would like to choose a prominent leader who can clearly express the party's stand on major issues.
