A statement from the Ministry of Defense earlier said that in a major step to improve diplomatic relations between the two countries, India and China will complete the process of military withdrawal on the LAC by October 28-29.

Meanwhile the process of military withdrawal between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has been completed. According to sources, the disengagement work has been completed in Depsang and Demchok. The armies of both India and China have retreated.

While earlier in a statement, the Ministry of Defense had said that India and China will complete the process of military withdrawal on the LAC.

However, the defense sources said, "This agreement will not apply to other confrontation areas. The troops of both sides will return to the position before April 2020, and they will patrol the areas where they patrolled till April 2020."

Earlier, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar said that withdrawal at two confrontation points on the Ladakh border is the first step and reducing tension is the next step.

Conflict on India-China border had a negative impact

While foreign Minister said that it will take time to build trust and will between the two countries. He said that the situation on the border has been very disturbing, and it has had a very negative impact on the relations between the two countries.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar highlighted that the agreement focuses on three major issues; the first and most important issue is withdrawal, as the armies of the two countries are very close to each other and something is likely to happen. He said the second issue is to reduce tensions and then the third big issue is 'how do you manage the border and negotiate a border agreement.'

Successful resolution of dispute after 2020 Galwan clash

In the meanwhile, the Defence Ministry statement said, "When the troops of both sides withdraw and remove the temporary structures, patrolling will start in some areas of the LAC.

This is the first successful resolution of the dispute between the two armies after the 2020 Galwan clash, which resulted in many casualties.
