Nepal Flood: More than 112 people have died and 60 injured due to floods and landslides caused by continuous rains in Nepal. Meanwhile the Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has called an emergency meeting of various ministers including the Home Minister, Home Secretary and heads of security agencies and has instructed them to speed up the search and rescue operation.

People died due to floods and landslides

According to the official at least 112 people died, and 60 injured due to floods and landslides caused by continuous rains in Nepal. Some parts of Nepal have been submerged due to rains since Thursday. While the Disaster officials have issued a flood warning in the some state.

Hundreds of houses submerged

The acting Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has called a meeting to deal with the flood situation. In the meanwhile the Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli said that a rescue team of about three thousand security personnel has been deployed by the Nepal Police in the affected areas.

Heavy rains have in many parts of Nepal since Thursday

While Nepal Police Deputy Spokesperson Biswa Adhikari said that so far 112 people have died in Nepal due to continuous rains, out of which 34 have died in the Kathmandu Valley. He said that 60 people have also been injured in the floods. Though  many  people are still trace less .

Disaster officials have issued a flash flood warning.

Meanwhile the Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has said that a total of 79 people are missing across the country, out of which 16 are missing in Kathmandu Valley. However more than three thousand people have also been rescued. According to the official said that main highways have come to a standstill at 63 places across the country. While the government has ordered to close all schools and collage in Nepal.

Power outage in Kathmandu throughout the day

Because of continuous rain there was a power outage in Kathmandu throughout the day, but power supply was restored in the evening. All entry routes to Kathmandu have also been blocked due to landslides caused by rain. As by the sources, more then 226 houses have been submerged in Kathmandu. All though  three thousand security personnel have been deployed by the Nepal Police in the affected areas.
