Iran Mine Blast: 30 people died, leakage of methane gas became the cause of the accident
Iran Mine Blast: More than 30 workers working there died on the spot, at the same time. At least 17 workers have been injured due to an explosion in a coal mine in eastern Iran.. The injured have been taken out of the coal mines and admitted to the hospital. After the incident, there was chaos in the coal block.
Explosion in Iran's coal mine
A coal mine in Tabas, located southeast of the capital Tehran, exploded due to a leak of methane gas. According to the report, the mine suddenly started leaking on Saturday night when at least 69 people were working. Later, state TV reported that 24 workers were trapped inside, while 28 others were sent to hospital for treatment.
Some people are still trapped in the mine
As by the reports, 24 people are believed to be trapped inside, while 28 people have been rescued alive. Those rescued alive have been sent to nearby hospitals for treatment. Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed grief over the accident and said that he has ordered all efforts to rescue the trapped people and assist their families. President also said that an investigation into the incident has started.
Explosion have happened in the mine before
All though this is not the first disaster on Iran's mining industry. Earlier in 2017, at least 42 people were killed in a coal mine explosion. Similarly, in 2013, 11 workers were killed in two separate mining incidents. While at the same time, at least 20 workers were killed in several incidents.

After the incident, there was chaos in the coal block. According to the information, as soon as the gas blast occurred in the coal mine, the workers started running here and there. There was a panic in the entire mine. However, it is not yet clear how this explosion happened.
