In the meanwhile, Ministry of External Affairs said, 'President of the Spanish Government Pedro Sanchez arrived in Vadodara, which is the first visit of a Spanish President to India in 18 years. This official visit is important to take India-Spain relations to new heights.' Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri welcomed President Sanchez at Vadodara International Airport.
Spanish President Sanchez today inaugurated the final assembly line plant of C295 aircraft in Vadodara along with Prime Minister Modi, which is a major initiative under the 'Make in India' campaign in the aviation sector. This plant has been set up by Tata Advanced Systems in collaboration with Airbus Spain.
Spanish President will also visit Mumbai
While the city has been decorated with beautiful lights for the visit of the President of Spain to Vadodara. This is President Sanchez's first visit to India, which is taking place after 18 years. President Sanchez will also visit Mumbai, where apart from official programs, he will interact with business and industry leaders, think tanks and people associated with the film industry.
The Spanish President will also visit major film studios, where he will interact with prominent personalities of the Indian film industry, to promote cooperation between the Indian and Spanish media and entertainment industry.
Several agreements are expected to be signed between the two countries during Pedro Sanchez's visit to India.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that President Sanchez's visit will be an opportunity to review our bilateral relations and further deepen partnership in various sectors including trade and investment, IT, innovation, infrastructure, renewable energy, defense and security, pharma, agri-tech and biotechnology, culture and tourism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, 'Today the defense manufacturing ecosystem in India is touching new heights. . We expanded private sector participation in defence manufacturing, made the public sector efficient, transformed ordnance factories into seven large companies, strengthened DRDO and HAL, built two major defence corridors in UP and Tamil Nadu.
