S Jaishankar on Pakistan visit, for the SCO summit... First PAK visit of an Indian Foreign Minister after 9 years
SCO Summit: Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will reach Pakistan today. To attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit to be held in Islamabad. In August, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the SCO summit.
Jaishankar on Pakistan tour
While the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit is going to be held in Pakistan on 15 and 16 October. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will reach Pakistan on Tuesday to participate in this summit. This will be the first Pakistan visit of any Indian Foreign Minister after nine years.
Foreign Minister will attend the SCO summit
Meanwhile the SCO summit is going to start in Pakistan from today. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will reach Islamabad on Tuesday to attend this summit. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will organize a dinner and with this the SCO summit will begin.
After 9 years, first Pakistan visit of Indian Foreign Minister
However this will be the first Pakistan visit of any Indian Foreign Minister after about nine years. Earlier in December 2015, the then Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj had gone to Pakistan. Sushma Swaraj had gone to Islamabad to attend a conference on Afghanistan.

There be a bilateral meeting as well
All though Indian Foreign Minister is going to Pakistan after years. In such a situation, the question arises whether this will improve the relations between India and Pakistan. However, no bilateral talks have been held from both India and Pakistan so far. Jaishankar is also unlikely to meet Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on this tour.
Bilawal Bhutto came to India last year
In the while last year, a meeting of foreign ministers of SCO countries was held in Goa. Pakistan's then Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto came to Goa to attend this meeting. This was the first time in 12 years that a Pakistani foreign minister came to India.

When Shanghai Five was formed in 1996, its aim was to stop tension on the borders of China and Russia and how to improve those borders. This was because there was tension between the newly formed countries at that time. This aim was achieved in just three years. That is why it is considered the most effective

Shanghai Cooperation Organization includes 8 member countries. These include China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan. Apart from these, there are four observer countries - Iran, Afghanistan, Belarus and Mongolia.
Its member countries include two permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (China and Russia) and four nuclear powers China, Russia, India and Pakistan.
This organization has more than 60% area of Eurasia, Europe and Asia. More than 40% of the world's population lives in its member countries. Also, it has a one-fourth share in the world's GDP.
S Jaishankar will spend less than 24 hours
Foreign Minister who went to Pakistan to attend the SCO Summit to be held on 15 and 16 October, will spend less than 24 hours there. Jaishankar's visit is taking place at a time when the relations between India and Pakistan are not very good. There has been tension in the relations between the two countries since the Pulwama attack in February 2019 and the Balakot airstrike after that.
Relations deteriorated further after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019.
