Chinese Spy Balloon:  Indian Air Force shot it down with Rafale at an altitude of 55 thousand feet. In the meanwhile Air Force has revealed a failed attempt by China, according to which a Chinese spy balloon was hovering within the Indian border a few months ago. What was the whole incident?

All though Air Force, used Rafale fighter aircraft for the spy balloon shot flying in the Eastern Front area. The Indian Air Force has been discussing for a long time the issue of dealing with the challenge posed by such balloons flying at high altitude. Last year, discussions were also held with the US Air Force.

Defense sources told the media

The force used a balloon small in size for this. The balloon was released into the air with some payload and then shot down using an inventory missile at an altitude of over 55 thousand feet

Air Force shot it down with Rafale

This operation was carried out by the army recently, but the information has come to light now. If sources are to be believed, the size of the balloon shot down by the Indian Air Force was smaller than the spy balloon shot down by the US Air Force last year. Last year, the US Air Force used F-22 Raptor fighter jets to shoot down a Chinese spy balloon

Balloon flying over Andaman-Nicobar

Meanwhile the balloon shot down by the Indian Air Force was flying over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands region. It is believed that balloons are used to monitor a large area. There is also discussion that Chinese spy balloons have a steering mechanism, which they use to keep an eye on their areas of interest.

Operation was not easy

This operation was not easy because the balloon was flying at an altitude of more than 55000 feet. This effort of the Air Force shows India's capabilities similar to America's earlier efforts against Chinese spy balloons.

China had denied the spy balloon

There were sharp allegations and counter-allegations between the US and China regarding large-scale aerial surveillance programs. After America's tough stance, a clarification also came from China in which it said that the balloon flying over the US was not for spying and had accidentally entered the American airspace. Balloon was released for research purposes.

In early 2023, the US Air Force shot down a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina with its F-22 Raptor aircraft.
