Sri Lankan President meets PM Modi, talks held on various issues
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumar Disanayake held a formal meeting with PM Modi today. This meeting took place at Hyderabad House. Both the leaders welcomed each other warmly. Let us tell you, President Disanayake is on a three-day visit to India from 15 to 17 December. He was formally welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan welcomed the President of Sri Lanka in Delhi. Earlier, the President of Sri Lanka went to Rajghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan was also present on this occasion.

The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on social media platform, that Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Disanayake paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat this morning. Bapu's eternal values of truth and non-violence continue to inspire humanity around the world. He also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. These meetings reaffirm the commitment to deepen the partnership between our two countries.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted the key role
Meanwhile External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted the key role of the island nation in India's Neighbourhood First policy and Sagar Outlook during his meeting with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Disanayake on Sunday.

He expressed confidence that President Dissanayake's talks with Prime Minister Modi today will promote greater cooperation between New Delhi and Colombo. Jaishankar wrote in his post that it was a pleasure to meet President Dissanayake at the beginning of his first state visit to India.
