Zomato has dismissed a delivery agent after a troubling incident involving a customer in Ahmedabad. On August 28, a woman shared her unsettling experience on social media, which has since gone viral. The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, reported that the delivery agent exposed himself to her when she went to collect her late-night order.
What Happened
The woman had ordered a coffee around midnight. When the delivery was delayed by 15 to 30 minutes, she received a call from the delivery agent at 12:48 am. Upon arriving to collect her order, she noticed the delivery person was unusually apologetic and kept mentioning an injury to his foot. Although she felt uneasy, she initially dismissed her concerns.
Discovery of the Harassment
The woman decided to shine her flashlight on the delivery agent's foot, suspecting something was off. To her shock, she discovered that the delivery agent had exposed his genitals and was smiling creepily. He reportedly laughed and mockingly asked for help while continuing to harass her.
Zomato’s Response
The woman reported the incident to Zomato right away. The company responded quickly, initially informing her that they would investigate by contacting the delivery agent. Shortly after, they updated her that the agent's services had been terminated and his license revoked.
