Dolly Chawla on Tum Se Tum Tak: “Playing Meera Was My Toughest Role Yet”

Popular TV actress Dolly Chawla is currently seen in Zee TV’s latest drama Tum Se Tum Tak. The actress plays Meera, a woman who's deeply loyal to her boss Arya, but also extremely possessive. While Meera takes care of everything for Arya — from his office to his meals and even his medication — she cannot tolerate anyone else getting close to him, especially the new entrant, Anu (played by Niharica Chouksey).

She is very obsessive and controlling, which is completely opposite to who I am in real life. That’s what makes playing her so tough, yet exciting." She admitted that it took her time to get into Meera’s headspace. “Every role should challenge you. If it doesn’t, where’s the fun? Meera is emotionally intense, and I had to work hard to bring out that side convincingly,” she added.

Why she said yes to 'Tum Se Tum Tak'

Dolly also shared what made her sign the project. “When I got a call from the production team, I was excited. This production house is like family. The moment they narrated Meera’s character, I knew I wanted to do it. The show already runs in seven languages, so the Hindi version adds pressure — but it also feels great to be part of something so impactful.” The show explores a bold yet tender love story between Arya (played by Sharad Kelkar) and Anu, who are separated by a significant age gap. Speaking on the theme, Dolly added, “There are age-gap relationships in real life too. Love doesn’t happen overnight — it develops over time, and that’s what makes this story relatable.” Tum Se Tum Tak is produced by Studio LSD, helmed by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah.
