How is percentile calculated?
To calculate the raw score, each question is worth four marks, and one mark is subtracted for each wrong answer. For example, Physics 70 + Chemistry 60 + Math 40 = 170/300. It's also worth noting that JEE Main rank isn't determined directly from your raw score. It's calculated as the number of students who scored equal to or less than you / total students × 100. It's important to note that this isn't a percentage. If you score 95 percentile, it means you scored higher than 95% of students in your shift.
How is rank determined in JEE Main?
The All India Rank in JEE Main is determined based on percentile scores. NTA considers the percentile of both attempts, and the attempt with the highest percentile is considered final. To calculate rank, calculate (100 - percentile) / 100 × total candidates.
