Comedian Zakir Khan took a dig at Bollywood while referencing the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge during the Chetak Screen Awards 2026.
The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, has emerged as a major box office success, crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark in India within 18 days.
Zakir Khan’s remark at awards show
Zakir Khan, who hosted the event alongside Alia Bhatt and Sunil Grover, referred to the film’s success while addressing the audience.
In a viral clip from the event, he said, "No matter how many congratulatory posts you post, how many stories you share, how many interviews you say my favorite film is, but the truth is that everyone is jealous of Dhurandhar."
He added, "The bomb in the film exploded in Lyari, but the smoke wafted from Bandra to Juhu."

The first film, Dhurandhar, released in December 2025 and grossed over ₹1,300 crore worldwide.
The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has surpassed its predecessor and is nearing ₹1,600 crore worldwide. It has also become the first Bollywood film to cross ₹1,000 crore net at the Indian box office within 18 days.
