The Raja Saab OTT Release: Prabhas Film to Stream With Extended Cut From Feb 6
Prabhas’s fantasy horror-comedy The Raja Saab is all set for its digital premiere. The film will stream on OTT with an extended cut that includes never-seen-before scenes, giving fans a fuller experience.
Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab will begin streaming on JioHotstar from February 6. The platform officially confirmed the OTT release after the film wrapped up its theatrical run earlier this year. Ahead of the premiere, JioHotstar teased the release on X, creating major buzz among fans. What makes the digital version special is that it will feature an extended cut, unlike the theatrical version.
What’s New in OTT Version
The OTT release will include additional footage that was missing from theatres. According to JioHotstar, certain scenes could not be added during the theatrical release due to last-minute technical issues. With these problems resolved, viewers will now get a more complete version of the film, making the OTT premiere more appealing than the cinema cut.
OTT Demand Goes Sky-High
Despite mixed reviews at the box office, The Raja Saab has created massive excitement online. JioHotstar revealed that the film witnessed an unexpected surge in traffic, with record-breaking “Remind Me” clicks. Due to the heavy demand, the platform upgraded its servers to ensure a smooth streaming experience on release day — a rare move for a single film premiere.
Box Office Performance Overview
Released on January 9 as a Sankranthi special, The Raja Saab opened well but struggled to sustain momentum due to negative word-of-mouth. As per trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 205 crore worldwide. However, given its high production budget, it fell short of box-office expectations.
Exclusive Four-Minute Scene
One of the biggest highlights of the OTT version is a four-minute unseen sequence featuring Prabhas in an older look. Producer T G Vishwa Prasad earlier stated that this portion couldn’t be shown on Day 1 due to server-related issues. The extended cut on OTT will finally showcase this missing sequence.
