Reliance Industries has denied reports claiming a Rs 1,000 limit on fuel sales at its Jio-bp mobility stations amid concerns of fuel shortages linked to the West Asia conflict.

The company said it has not issued any central directive to restrict fuel purchases at its outlets. It added that fuel supply remains stable across its network.

Reliance, which operates over 2,000 fuel stations in partnership with BP, stated that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel at Jio-bp mobility stations.

The clarification comes after reports in English and Hindi media claimed that a one-time fuel purchase cap of Rs 1,000 per vehicle had been introduced to prevent panic buying.

Reliance said that any such measures, if implemented, may have been taken by individual pumps in isolated areas to manage local demand.

The company also said it continues to offer high-performance petrol and diesel with active technology that provides higher mileage at no additional cost.

Public sector oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, have not announced any restrictions on fuel sales.

The reports emerged amid volatility in global oil markets due to the ongoing Iran-US conflict. After a temporary ceasefire, crude oil prices fell to $97 per barrel.

Iran had agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks to allow safe passage of ships. However, the route was closed again following continued Israeli military action in Lebanon, leading to renewed concerns over supply disruptions.

Reliance reiterated that fuel availability remains normal and operations continue without restrictions across its outlets.
