S Jaishankar celebrated Diwali with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and discussed the Free Trade Agreement
On a visit to the UK, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar celebrated Diwali on Sunday at 10 Downing Street with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty. Jaishankar gave Sunak a Lord Ganesh statue and a cricket bat with Virat Kohli's autograph on it. During his trip to the UK, Jaishankar and his wife, Kyoko Jaishankar, also prayed at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Neasden Temple) in London. EAM Jaishankar shared information about his meeting with the UK PM on his official X account. "Happy to speak with Prime Minister RishiSunak on Diwali Day," he wrote on social media. The leaders talked about the friendship between India and the UK as well as the latest developments in the talks for a free trade agreement. The UK government said in an official statement that they both agreed on how important it was to reach a comprehensive agreement that benefited both parties.

He also sent the best wishes to PM Modi. He mentioned that,India and the UK are working hard to reinterpret their relationship for the modern era. He expressed his gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Sunak for their kind hospitality.This official visit to UK will conclude on November 15
The minister of external affairs will leave Britain on November 15 after arriving on Saturday. During his visit, he is expected to meet with a number of other dignitaries. India and the United Kingdom established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2021. The Ministry of External Affairs states that there is a "warm and thriving relationship between India and the UK."
