IPL 2026: The third match of IPL 2026 features a contest between the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings. All eyes are fixed on this fixture, as it will see last season's "wonder boy," Vaibhav Suryavanshi, in action. Ravindra Jadeja will take the field against his former franchise. Sanju Samson—who, until last season, stepped onto the field to lead that very team to victory—will now take the field this season with the aim of defeating them.

Naturally, with so many compelling reasons to watch this match, anticipation is bound to be high. However, even before the match has begun, three players have already been ruled out. These players will not be part of the Playing XI in Guwahati.

Which 3 Players Are Out of the RR vs CSK Match?

Sam Curran (from Rajasthan Royals) and Nathan Ellis (from Chennai Super Kings) have already been ruled out of IPL 2026 entirely. We will not be discussing those who are no longer part of the league. Instead, we are focusing on the three players who are specifically ruled out of the RR vs CSK match—that is, those who will not be playing in Guwahati.

The first name among the three players ruled out of the RR vs CSK match is MS Dhoni. Dhoni has been sidelined for a few weeks due to an injury. Consequently, while he may be seen with the team, he will not be playing.

Dhoni provided an update regarding his injury just one day before the commencement of IPL 2026.

Apart from Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings' Dewald Brevis will also remain sidelined for the RR vs CSK match taking place in Guwahati. According to reports, Brevis is suffering from a side strain, an injury that could keep him out of action for at least two matches. The third player to be ruled out of the match against the Rajasthan Royals also belongs to the Chennai Super Kings: Spencer Johnson, who joined the squad as a replacement for Nathan Ellis. Reports suggest that this Australian pacer is currently nursing an injury and has not yet joined the team.

First in IPL History

Guwahati is also set to witness a moment unlike any other in the history of the IPL. For the very first time, the Chennai Super Kings will take the field without the presence of a single one of their iconic trio: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, or Ravindra Jadeja
