IPL 2026, KKR vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad has officially opened its winning account in IPL 2026. Hyderabad clinched a magnificent victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the 6th match of the tournament. However, despite a promising start, the Kolkata Knight Riders team failed to make a significant impact, resulting in their second consecutive defeat. Hyderabad Posts a Massive Total on the Board

With this win, Hyderabad has opened its winning account for the season, while KKR has suffered its second consecutive defeat.

After losing the toss and being put in to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad was given a blistering start by Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. Abhishek Sharma smashed 48 runs off 21 balls, while Travis Head hammered 46 runs off 21 deliveries. Together, the duo forged an explosive partnership of 82 runs off just 34 balls. Following this, Heinrich Klaasen made a crucial contribution by scoring 52 runs. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy played an explosive innings of 39 runs, which helped propel the team to this formidable total.

On the other hand, the Kolkata Knight Riders' bowling attack proved to be quite expensive; however, the Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani produced a standout performance. He claimed 4 wickets for 41 runs across his 4 overs. His haul included the wickets of Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen, and Shivang Kumar. Amidst this explosive batting display, Muzarabani successfully proved his mettle and demonstrated his capabilities.

KKR Batsmen Flounder in the Run Chase

Setting out to chase a target of 227 runs, KKR got off to a decent start; however, the loss of wickets at regular intervals severely derailed the team's progress in the chase. Although Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 52 runs, he was eventually run out. Rinku Singh, too, could not advance beyond a score of 35 runs. Earlier in the innings, Finn Allen provided a rapid start by smashing 28 runs off just 7 balls, but the SRH bowlers subsequently bowled with great discipline and control. Consequently, the KKR team was bowled out for 161 runs, losing the match by a margin of 65 runs.

Summary

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jaydev Unadkat emerged as the top wicket-taker. He claimed 3 wickets for 21 runs in his 3 overs. Meanwhile, Ehsan Malinga and Nitish Kumar Reddy were successful in securing 2 wickets each, while Harsh Dubey also claimed 1 wicket to his name.
