YouTube Auto Dubbing Feature: If you enjoy watching YouTube videos, an amazing feature has arrived for you. Now you can listen to YouTube videos in your own language, as YouTube has released its AI-powered Auto-Dubbing feature to all users. With this technology, the spoken language of a video is automatically transcribed and dubbed into another language. Now, non-music videos can be watched in 27 different languages. The company has also added new features like Expressive Speech and Preferred Language. This will make the video viewing experience more natural and controlled.

Auto-Dubbing offers support for 27 languages

YouTube has rolled out its AI-based Auto-Dubbing feature to all channels and all viewers. This feature automatically converts the video's audio into text and then dubs it into another language. Initially, it was introduced as a pilot program at VideoCon 2023. Later, it was limited to informational and knowledge-based videos. Now it will work on all non-music videos. With support for a total of 27 languages, viewers can now watch and listen to more content in their preferred language.

AI voice is now more natural, Expressive Speech feature launched

YouTube has also worked on making the dubbed voice less robotic and more human-like. For this, a new feature called Expressive Speech has been added. This feature attempts to better capture the emotion and energy of the creator's voice. Currently, it is available in eight languages, including English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. The company says that this will make the dubbed content sound more realistic and natural. Preferred Language setting gives users control

YouTube acknowledged that previously, Auto-Dubbing only displayed dubbed audio based on the account's default language, which provided a limited experience for many users, especially multilingual users or those who wanted to watch videos in the original language. Keeping this in mind, a Preferred Language setting has now been added. Through this, users can choose their preferred dubbed language. If needed, Auto-Dubbing can also be completely turned off. This makes the viewing experience more personalized.

Lip Sync testing and smart filters also included

The platform is also testing a new Lip Sync feature. This technology attempts to match the speaker's lip movements with the translated audio, making the video more immersive. This feature has already been seen in Instagram and Facebook Reels. YouTube has also clarified that its video-level filter automatically identifies which videos should not be dubbed, such as music videos or silent vlogs, where dubbing would be meaningless. This will ensure the feature is used more accurately.
