NY Mayor Eric Adams Hails BAPS Hindu Community as Vital Heritage

On October 5, the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in Robbinsville, New Jersey, played host to a distinguished delegation of New Jersey mayors, including Robbinsville Mayor David Fried. This event marked a significant precursor to the grand inauguration of the temple.

Addressing the gathering, Hemant Marathe, Mayor of West Windsor, New Jersey, shared a profound observation, "In society, it is difficult to get 100 people to agree on the simplest things. Here, more than 12,500 people of different ages, professions, and socio-economic backgrounds came together, transcending their individual interests, to create such a beautiful and grand Akshardham. This is an important lesson for society."

Former U.S. Representative Thomas Morino of Pennsylvania reflected on his experience, saying, "I used to think of myself as a good person, but as I walk away from here, my heart is now telling me to be kinder, to donate more, to reach out to that neighbor. Helping a child in need, even if you've never spoken before, has been an extraordinary moment for me."

Mayor David Fried of Robbinsville emerged as a staunch supporter of the Akshardham project from its inception.
