Havoc of fog in Delhi-NCR, put brakes on speed of trains & vehicles; know the situation
At present, there is severe cold in entire North India including Delhi-NCR. On Friday morning, the havoc of fog is also being seen in Delhi-NCR. Delhi-NCR is seen wrapped in a blanket of fog. Due to fog, visibility has been reduced considerably in Delhi NCR. The fog is having the most effect on the speed of trains. Due to which many trains are running late. Continuous snowfall in the hilly areas has increased the chill in the plains. The entire North India is in the grip of cold wave. In the coming days, the cold wave will continue in Delhi-NCR, for now there is no possibility of getting much relief from the cold.
Delhi-NCR wrapped in a blanket of fog
The weather department had predicted very dense fog on Friday, and the same happened. Today the entire Delhi-NCR is seen wrapped in a blanket of fog. In some areas, the situation is such that nothing is visible even at a distance of ten meters. The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog for Saturday as well. However, the fog will reduce a little on the next day i.e. Sunday. The Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert for fog for Friday.

Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert
Delhi experienced severe cold for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday and the maximum temperature was recorded at 16.2 degrees Celsius, which is 3.1 degrees below normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius. During this time, the visibility had dropped to less than 50 meters. Even today the visibility is very low in Delhi-NCR. An orange alert for fog has been issued for the second time in the season. This means that there may be dense to very dense fog at some places. During this time the visibility may be less than 50 meters.
Fog slows down the speed of trains and vehicles
Due to fog, visibility has decreased in entire North India including Delhi-NCR, due to which vehicles are crawling on the roads. Due to low visibility, trains are also running late. Many trains have also had to be diverted. Not only trains but many flights are also getting delayed. The fog has affected the flights of many airlines including SpiceJet, Indigo and Air India. Therefore, passengers have been advised by the airlines and the airport to check their flight status before stepping out of their homes.
Weather mood in the coming days
The entire country is experiencing bone-chilling cold. Snowfall in the mountains has brought down the mercury in the plains. The westerly winds are freezing the plains. The Meteorological Department issued an alert and said that Western Disturbances are going to form one after the other in the coming two to three days. The Meteorological Department has predicted light clouds in the plains. Along with this, heavy rains have been predicted in many areas of North India including Delhi at the beginning of next week.

Entire North India in the grip of cold wave
At present, the entire North India including Delhi-NCR is in the grip of cold wave. According to the Meteorological Department, there is an alert of dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. At the same time, an alert of frost has been issued in many states of North East including Himachal Pradesh. The temperature is expected to go down further in different parts of the country. In the next 5 days, the temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 3 degree Celsius in the states of North West India and 2 to 3 degree Celsius in Central India
