BJP announces 70 new district presidents in UP, upper castes dominates in numbers
There are still two years left for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, but the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has started preparations for 2027. This is the reason why BJP has also appointed district presidents in 70 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
In Uttar Pradesh, BJP has appointed district presidents for 70 districts in which the number of upper castes is the highest. However, OBCs have also been given preference in this.
More than 55 percent upper caste district presidents and metropolitan presidents have been appointed, while about 35 percent OBC and 10 percent Dalit leaders have been appointed as new district presidents.

The new list of BJP district presidents that has been released shows the dominance of upper castes. More than 55 percent upper caste district presidents and metropolitan presidents have been appointed, while about 35 percent OBC and 10 percent Dalit leaders have been appointed as new district presidents.
Regarding the appointment of new district presidents, MP and BJP UP in-charge Mahendra Nath Pandey said that 28 district presidents and metropolitan presidents are yet to be appointed.
Mahendra Pandey said that the representation of OBCs and Dalits has been increased in the first list itself. Among the remaining 28 people, the maximum participation will be of OBC Dalits and women.
Appointment in 70 district units
He said, the election of district presidents has been held in the organization in which district presidents have been declared in 70 district units today. Rajesh Shukla from Sitapur and Harish Chandra Prajapati in Lalitpur have been given the responsibility of district president.
New list of BJP district presidents that has been released
However, there are 11 districts where the election of district president has not been held due to by-elections. Out of 70, 25 from OBC, 6 from Scheduled Caste, 5 women, 39 district presidents from general category have been elected while 26 leaders have been repeated as district presidents.
