Chamoli Cloudburst: Cloudburst in Tharali, Chamoli wreaks havoc; debris enters houses, 2 missing
Chamoli Cloudburst: The torrential rains in the Tharali area of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand since late evening have caused heavy destruction. Life has been disrupted due to continuous rain, while the situation remains very serious in areas like Radibaghad and Chepado. After the cloudburst in Tunri Gadhera of Tharali, several vehicles have been buried under the debris. While the debris has reached the houses, due to which people had to leave their homes and come out.
One person is reported missing from Sagwara village, while a 20-year-old girl is buried under the debris.
Chief Minister expressed grief
The water level in the Pindar and Pranamati rivers is rising rapidly, due to which there is a threat of flood in the surrounding areas. A large amount of debris has also accumulated in the Tehsil Tharali complex and some vehicles have also been found buried there. The Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has also expressed grief over this incident on the social media.

The Chief Minister wrote, that sad news of cloudburst was received late night in Tharali area of Chamoli district. Meanwhile SDRF and local police are engaged in rerescue operations. I am personally monitoring the situation.
