CM Yogi Adityanath met PM Modi, discussed possible cabinet expansion in UP
CM Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, CM Yogi met BJP President JP Nadda. According to sources, CM Yogi is meeting central leaders regarding possible cabinet expansion in UP. According to the information, there has also been a discussion between Yogi Adityanath and the Prime Minister regarding reshuffle in the organization.
It is worth noting that there has been a discussion about the expansion of the cabinet in Uttar Pradesh for some time.
Maximum of 60 ministers can be made in UP
A maximum of 60 ministers can be made in the Uttar Pradesh government. Currently, there are 21 cabinet ministers, 14 ministers of state with independent charge and 19 ministers of state in the cabinet, that is, there are a total of 54 ministers.

According to this, 6 ministerial posts are still vacant. Also, there is a discussion that some ministers may be relieved, or some may be assigned the work of the organization. Along with this, there will be an attempt to keep in mind the social equation in the cabinet.
Uttar Pradesh assembly elections to be held in UP in 2027
The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are to be held in 2027. For the last 8 years, the Bharatiya Janata Party has a full majority government in UP. BJP also got full majority in the elections held in the year 2022 under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. There is a possibility of major organizational changes in BJP regarding the 2027 elections.
