Cold Waves In Kashmir And Uttarakhand:  The cold is increasing in the mountains. Temperatures are dropping in many areas from Kashmir to Uttarakhand. Icy winds have exacerbated the cold in many areas of the mountains. But will Delhi also experience severe cold by the end of November, or will Delhi still have to wait for the cold to arrive?

Cold has already intensified in the mountains

According to Skymet Weather, Delhi usually does not receive rain in November, as no major weather systems are active during this time. However, the year 2023 was an exception, when 17.7 mm of rainfall was recorded in November. The following year, 2024, saw a completely dry November. Since 2011, there has been no rain at all in November seven times.

There has been no rainfall in the remaining years, and rainfall has been very low in other years as well. Rainfall is also unlikely in Delhi and surrounding areas this time.

A slight drop in the minimum temperature in Delhi is expected, as part of the normal weather pattern. Temperatures in Delhi may drop to 9°C this week, but no further drop is expected. There is little chance of severe cold or cold wave conditions in November.

Delhi Temperature

According to Skymet Weather, the temperature in Delhi this afternoon is around 25°C in most places. In the coming days, the minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 11°C and the maximum temperature is expected to be around 29°C.

Cold in Kashmir

The effects of the previous snowfall have led to a rise in cold in the Kashmir Valley. Temperatures in areas like Gulmarg and Pahalgam dropped below freezing in the first week of November.

Cold in Badrinath

The cold is increasing in the mountains of Uttarakhand. Badrinath Dham has already experienced severe cold. The impact of a severe cold wave has been felt here since November. Due to icy winds, temperatures in the Dham reached around minus 10 to 16 degrees last week.

Manali Waits for Cold

According to Skymet Weather, in the last four years, the temperature in Manali has never dropped to zero or below zero in November. Even in Shimla, the mercury usually drops this low only in December. In the last 15 years, Shimla's lowest November temperature was 2.7°C (November 30, 2007). This time too, Manali and Shimla may have to wait for temperatures to drop below zero.
