IMD Issues Orange alert: Heavy rain, thunderstorm and hailstorm till 21 April

The weather has changed in many states of the country. Though rains occurred from Jammu and Kashmir to Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Orange Alert: After the activation of a new western disturbance, the mood of the weather has changed in many areas of the country. Heavy rains are occurring in the hilly areas of North India. On Sunday, torrential rains are occurring in many states including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Due to heavy rains, many areas of Jammu and Kashmir have been waterlogged.

Due to the change in its weather, it is raining in Northeast India, East India as well. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the rainy season may continue till April 21. A western disturbance is active in the form of cyclonic circulation in West Iran and surrounding areas.

Heavy rain in Northeast India on April 22

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather may turn harsh in many states of Northeast India on April 22. Torrential rain is expected in many areas. In the next 24 hours, there may be a period of strong wind with thunder and lightning in the states of Northeast India.

The Meteorological Department has said that on April 22, the wind speed may increase from 30-40 kmph to 50 kmph. Heavy rain may occur with lightning in many areas. Heavy rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during April 22 to 24.

Weather during the last 24 hours

During the last 24 hours, heavy rain was recorded in many areas from Jammu and Kashmir to North and Northeast India. Strong winds with thunderstorms and storms blew at different places in Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand.

Hailstorm occurred in Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh. The Meteorological Department estimates that there may be heavy rain in many areas in the coming time.

Alert of thunderstorms in many states in the next 24 hours

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain with thunderstorms in many parts of the country including Delhi, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand in the next 24 hours. According to the IMD, an alert of light rain with thunderstorms has been issued in many districts including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Saharanpur of UP.

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain and dust storm in Bihar-Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and the states of Northeast India, especially Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya.

Summary

Although IMD estimates that the period of rain and strong winds may continue in the next 24 hours. The mood of the weather is also changing in many states of Northeast India and South India. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain, thunder and strong winds.
