Nitesh Kumar to expend Bihar cabinet: BJP got 7 ministerial posts...
Nitesh Kumar to expend Bihar cabinet: After winning the fort of Delhi, BJP's eyes are now on Bihar. For the return of NDA to power, BJP has started working on social engineering within the organization. Nitish cabinet is going to be expanded at 4 pm today and the interesting thing is that there has been a happy consensus on giving all the seven vacant berths of the cabinet to the BJP quota.
Earlier there was a discussion that three new faces from BJP quota and two from JDU quota were going to join the cabinet. However, now it has become completely clear that just before the elections, Nitish has shown a big heart and has given laddus in both the hands of BJP.
BJP's eyes are now on Bihar
Actually, this is the election year in Bihar and before that the cabinet expansion is going to happen in Nitish government. Discussions in political corridors are inevitable. There is NDA government in the state. BJP, JDU, HAM, LJP (R) are included in the alliance.
JDU chief Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister. As his allies, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha are Deputy CMs from BJP quota.
BJP will have 21 ministers
At present, the number of ministers in Nitish cabinet is 29. Currently 7 posts are vacant. At present there are 14 ministers from BJP, 13 from JDU, 1 from HAM and one from independent court.

Now seven new faces are going to join from BJP quota. In such a situation, the number of ministers from BJP quota will become 21. While 13 ministers from JDU including CM Nitish will remain a part of the cabinet.
What message is BJP giving?
Experts say that not only are social engineering equations being fitted in the government, but efforts are also being made to give the message that even though the Chief Minister is from the JDU quota, BJP is the most influential in the government. 21 ministers including two deputy CMs are part of the government.

Earlier, when a meeting was held between the BJP and JDU high command regarding the cabinet expansion, it was also discussed that JDU's quota is over and in terms of MLAs, BJP still has scope to join the cabinet.
BJP made Nitish the elder brother!
Earlier in the year 2020, when the results of Bihar assembly elections came, NDA won the maximum 125 seats and the Grand Alliance won 110 seats. BJP emerged as the largest party in the NDA. But, as promised, BJP made Nitish the elder brother and he became the CM for the seventh time. But in 2022, Nitish broke ties with BJP and went with Lalu Prasad Yadav and became CM for the eighth time in the Grand Alliance government.
Nitish has taken oath as CM 9 times
Two years later in 2024, Nitish changed his mind again and joined the NDA camp. He once again joined hands with BJP. BJP again made Nitish the elder brother and despite being the largest party, once again expressed confidence in Nitish and chose him as its leader.
Nitish became the CM of Bihar for the 9th time. In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP contested on 17 seats and won 12 seats.
Election under Nitish's leadership
Now, just a few months before the assembly elections, when it was the turn of cabinet expansion, Nitish showed a big heart and agreed to make BJP ministers on all the seven vacant seats. In the 2025 elections, NDA is claiming to contest the elections under the leadership of Nitish.
What were the results in 2020?
In the 2020 elections, RJD had won the maximum 75 seats. BJP had won one seat less i.e. 74 seats. JDU, which is part of NDA, had won 43 seats and came third. Congress, which is part of Mahagathbandhan, had won 19, CPI (M-LL) 12, AIMIM 5, Vikasheel Insan Party 4, Hindustan Awam Morcha 4, CPI (M) and CPI had won 2 seats. 3 independents also won the elections.
There are 243 seats in Bihar Legislative Assembly and a figure of 122 is required for majority. At present BJP has 80 MLAs and JDU has 44 MLAs. Jitan Ram Manjhi's party HAM (S) has four MLAs. Till now a total of 6 berths were vacant in Nitish cabinet.
When will the swearing-in take place?
