Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh visited flood-affected areas
Yesterday the Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan visited the flood-affected areas of the Punjab state ares and assured the people that the Center stands with them in this hour of crisis.
He said that two central teams are visiting Punjab to assess the situation and they will submit a report to the central government. He said, 'The damage is clearly visible. Crops have been completely destroyed and fields are submerged.'
Governor submits report to Agriculture Minister
Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria submitted a detailed report on the flood situation to Shivraj Chauhan at Amritsar Airport, giving information about the damage to life, crops and infrastructure.
Apart from this, Arvind Kejriwal also visited the flood-affected areas in Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala and appealed to the Center to help Punjab in this crisis. Earlier in the day, Kejriwal met Mann at his official residence in Chandigarh and inquired about his health. Mann, suffering from fever, could not accompany Kejriwal during the tour of flood-affected areas.
Officer deployed in affected village

Water level stable at Bhakra Dam
Meanwhile, Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner Varjit Singh Walia has appealed to the people living in low-lying areas near the Sutlej river in several villages of Nangal and Anandpur Sahib to move to safer places or go to relief camps set up by the district administration.
He informed that the water level of Bhakra Dam is stable. About 85,000 cusecs of water was released from the dam on 3 September.
