Srinagar: A major accident has happened in Dal Lake located in Kashmir Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. On the evening of Friday, May 2, a Shikara capsized due to strong winds. The video of this incident is also becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which people are seen pleading for help to avoid drowning in the water.

Dal Lake is considered a place of peace for tourists, after this accident this place of peace became a scene of horror. As soon as the local administration got the information about this, relief and rescue work has been started immediately.

Shikara boat capsized on 17 April

This is not the first case of a Shikara boat capsizing in Dal Lake. Earlier on 17 April, a Shikara boat lost control and capsized in the lake due to strong winds. A tourist family was present in the boat at that time.

The security personnel deployed in the lake immediately started the rescue operation and saved the family from drowning amid strong winds. The local sailors immediately jumped into the lake and saved the lives of 4 people.
