Woman Naxal with 25 lakh bounty killed in encounter in Dantewada, arms & ammunition recovered
Dantewada: An encounter took place between security forces and Naxalites on the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts of Chhattisgarh, in which a female Naxalite was killed. Security forces have recovered INSAS rifle, ammunition and other essential materials along with the body of the Naxalite. At present, search operation is going on in the area.

How did the operation take place?
On Monday morning, a team of security forces went on patrol as part of the anti-Naxal operation. At around 9 o'clock, the soldiers encountered the Naxalites and firing started from both sides. The female Naxalite was killed in retaliatory action by the soldiers.
17 Naxalites killed in Sukma
Two days before this, security forces killed 17 Naxalites, including 11 women, in a major operation on the border of Sukma and Dantewada. In this encounter, the security forces recovered many modern weapons. Among the Naxalites killed was SZCM (Special Zonal Committee Member) Jagdish alias Budhra, on whom a reward of Rs 25 lakh was announced.
Budhra was involved in the 2013 Jhiram Valley attack, in which many big Congress leaders were killed.
Home Minister Amit Shah's reaction
On this operation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on the social media platform X that security forces killed 17 Naxalites in Sukma and recovered a large quantity of automatic weapons. He reiterated that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to root out Naxalism by March 31, 2026.

The Home Minister also said that violence and weapons do not provide any solution, but peace and development is the right path. He appealed to the Naxalites to give up arms and return to the mainstream.

Amit Shah will reach Dantewada on April 4, where he will review the Naxal operation and hold a meeting with security forces and officials. This action has further strengthened the anti-Naxal operation, and the position of the security forces has become stronger.
