Congress's allegation of rigging in Haryana elections rejected, EC replied in 1600-page
Congress had made many allegations regarding Haryana assembly elections. Complaints were made to Election Commission about EVM tampering and not allowing voting at booths. But now, about 20 days after the counting of votes, Election Commission has given a reply to each allegation in 1600 pages.
The Election Commission rejected Congress' allegations about irregularities in Haryana elections as baseless. The Election Commission issued a statement on Tuesday and warned the Congress and other political parties against making baseless and sensational complaints at sensitive times like polling and counting days. The Commission said that irresponsible allegations can cause unrest and chaos among the public.
Meanwhile Congress had made 26 complaints in Haryana elections. Election Commission rejected those allegations of irregularities as baseless.
Similar allegations in every election
Let us tell you that this response of the Election Commission has come after the Congress expressed apprehension over the display of 99 percent battery status on EVMs during the counting of votes in Haryana elections, complained of possible tampering with the machines and accused the officials of deliberately delaying the counting process.
The Election Commission told the Congress that similar allegations are being made in every election. Every time these are proven wrong. The Congress should stay away from such baseless allegations. It is not right to question the results that you do not like. You should face the election results and not raise doubts on them.
Curb daily complaints
The Election Commission has appealed to the Congress to take strict and concrete steps. It has also urged to curb the tendency of unnecessary complaints. The Election Commission clearly said that every stage of the election process in Haryana was 'faultless' and was done under the supervision of Congress candidates or agents.
Returning officers of 26 assembly constituencies verify it again. The response of Election Commission officials on Congress' complaints was included in the 1600-page reply.
Apart from this, the Congress had accused the Commission of serious and clear irregularities in the election process in 20 assembly constituencies in Haryana. Congress had said that complaints against Congress candidates came from Narnaul, Karnal, Dabwali, Rewari, Hodal (SC), Kalka, Panipat City, Indri, Badkhal, Faridabad NIT, Nalwa, Rania, Pataudi (SC), Palwal, Ballabhgarh,
These include those seats from where the party candidates have lost the elections by a narrow margin and Haryana Congress President Uday Bhan is also among the complainants.
