Farmers to march Delhi again, security tightened on Haryana border; riot control vehicles deployed

Samyukta Kisan Morcha has announced to march towards Delhi again on Sunday. Sarwan Singh Pandher, head of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said that we waited for talks with the central government till Saturday evening, but after no meaningful initiative, we have now decided that the second batch of 101 farmers will march peacefully to Delhi on foot at 12 noon on Sunday.

While Haryana Police has tightened the arrangements to stop the farmers at Shambhu border on Haryana-Punjab border and other major border entry points of the state.

Farmers to march towards Delhi again

However, Pandher questioned that earlier the central and Haryana governments had put a condition that if farmers want to go to Delhi without tractor-trolleys, they will not be stopped. Now when we want to go to Delhi on foot as a group without tractor-trolleys, then why are we being stopped.  Even though Pandher claimed that 20 farmers were injured in Friday's incident. What the central and Haryana governments did to the farmers has exposed their face.

Agriculture Minister should not mislead the country – Farmer

Although Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chauhan and other BJP leaders are giving statements on TV that they are in talks with the farmers, whereas till date they have not even been called for talks. Agriculture Minister should not mislead the country.

According to Sarwan Singh Pandher, what we have been saying continuously, Shivraj Chauhan has said the same thing that we are giving 50 percent MSP. Pandher said that this does not even cover our expenses on sowing the crop. The Union Agriculture Minister should not mislead the country.

Center is not in a mood to talk -famers

We saw that the Center is not in a mood to talk. On the other hand, the hunger strike of BKU Sidhupur's provincial head Jagjit Singh Dallewal continued for the 12th day on Saturday at Khanauri border of Sangrur district. Dr. Shaurya Kamboj, who is monitoring his health, said that his weight has reduced by eight and a half kilos. Along with the effect on the kidney, his sugar and BP level are also not right.

Haryana Police has tightened security at Shambhu border

Security arrangements tightened on the border Ambala Haryana Police has tightened the arrangements to stop the farmers at Shambhu Border and other major border entry points of the state on the Haryana-Punjab border. To stop the farmers from marching towards Delhi, Haryana Police has tightened security at Shambhu Border as well as Datasinghwala, Khanauri Border in Jind and Punjab and Rajasthan border adjoining Dabwali in Sirsa district. The iron grill on the Shambhu border has been strengthened by welding.

Riot control vehicles have been deployed

Water cannons, tear gas shells and other arrangements have been made. Riot control vehicles have been deployed at Tikri Border. 21 checkpoints have been set up on the Punjab and Rajasthan border adjoining Dabwali in Sirsa district. More than one thousand paramilitary force personnel are deployed here.

Meanwhile, the DGP of Haryana has written a letter to the DGP of Punjab Police and asked to keep the media about one kilometer away from the farmers during the march of farmers at Shambhu Border.
