Haryana: Though results of Haryana election were shocking. Congress, which was waiting to celebrate its victory, lost badly. On the other hand, proving all the estimates wrong, BJP scored a hat-trick in the state by securing majority On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party, which entered the field with many claims, could not even open its account.

How 'broom' changes the game

Meanwhile AAP election proved to be beneficial for BJP but costly for Congress. Reason, there are many seats where Congress candidates lost to BJP by few votes. All though BJP won 48 seats in the state, while Congress got only 37 seat On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party divided more votes than that margin on these seats. That is, Aam Aadmi Party proved to be 'vote cutter' for Congress.

AAP strategy benefitted the BJP

In Dabwali, the Congress candidate lost the election by a narrow margin of 610. And AAP got more than 6600 votes. The list of Haryana seats shows how Congress' decision not to ally with AAP affected its fortunes in Haryana. In fact, despite riding a strong anti-incumbency wave against the saffron party in the state, Congress failed to gain power in Haryana.

Aam Aadmi Party proved to be 'vote cutter' for Congress

Even though xperts are pointing to how "Rao-land" voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party, while the Jats - who are considered the main vote bank of the Congress, elected MLAs from the Jat community who were not necessarily limited to the Congress. This led to a surge in the number of seats of the BJP and Congress was unable to make the most of its core constituency.

AAP played a decisive role in at least half a dozen seats

AAP performed better than BJP's former ally JJP and crossed the 5000 mark in about a dozen seats. AAP's senior leadership was confident of this from the first day of Haryana election campaign. After the alliance talks with Congress failed, Aam Aadmi Party entered the assembly elections with a clear mandate to expand the organization.

Alliance talk failed between Congress and AAP

Congress  arrogance of not forming an alliance can spoil the game for them. AAP was ready to compromise even on fewer seats. But you cannot compromise on all fronts On the condition of anonymity, the AAP leadership kept claiming that their candidates could cross the 5000 mark in at least a dozen seats. This number is considered good for a new candidate in a state with a small assembly. At that time, the campaign in-charge used to mention seats like Jagadhari, Bhiwani, Meham, Narnaul and said that the party would register comparatively better.

Did AAP spoil Congress' game?

According to Aam Aadmi Party insiders, a strong Brahmin candidate was being looked for in Bhiwani. As part of the alliance, the CPI(M) was allotted the Bhiwani seat. The CPI(M) lost to the BJP heavyweight by 32714 votes. AAP has fielded a well-known Brahmin face from Bhiwani. Ray fielded Indu Sharma and managed to secure 17573 votes.

Congress ignore the growing popularity of AAP

AAP MP Raghav Chadha said that if they (Congress) had taken care of AAP's ambitions and needs, the result of Haryana elections could have been different. Notably, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, commenting on the trends till October 8 afternoon, told his party workers, "Never be overconfident looking at today's polls (trends). Never take any election lightly. Every election is difficult.

Chadha posted on Instagram, "Aaj woh bhi pachta raha hoga mera saath chhod kar, agar saath saath chalte to kuch aur baat hoti".
