Earthquake Tremors: The earth shook due to strong tremors of earthquake in Myanmar on Friday. These tremors were so strong that they were felt even in Thailand's capital Bangkok.

The epicenter of the earthquake was Sagaing in Myanmar. Due to the tremors of the earthquake, the popular Ava Bridge on the Irrawaddy River in Mandalay, Myanmar collapsed. It is being said that tremors of the earthquake were also felt in some parts of China and Taiwan.

Buildings have collapsed in many cities of Thailand and Myanmar.

- The tower in Bangkok has collapsed while dozens of people are missing.

- USGS says that thousands of people are feared dead.

- An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 was also felt in Garo Hills of Meghalaya.

- Many videos are going viral on social media, in which skyscrapers can be seen shaking due to the earthquake tremors. Many buildings have tilted.

Tremors was 7.7 on the Richter scale

There are seven tectonic plates inside the earth. These plates keep rotating continuously. When these plates collide with each other, rub against each other, climb over each other or move away from them, then the ground starts shaking. This is called an earthquake.

Which is called the Richter magnitude scale

The Richter magnitude scale ranges from 1 to 9. The intensity of an earthquake is measured from its center i.e. the epicenter. The energy emanating from that center is measured on this scale.

1 means low intensity energy is being released. 9 means the highest. Extremely frightening and destructive wave.

These get weaker as they move away. If the intensity is 7 on the Richter scale, then there is a strong tremor within a radius of 40 km.

How much intensity is how dangerous?

It is measured on the Richter scale. In an earthquake, each scale of the Richter scale is 10 times more dangerous than the previous scale.

- Earthquakes of 0 to 1.9 magnitude can be detected only by seismograph.

- There is a slight tremor when an earthquake of 2 to 2.9 magnitude occurs.

- When an earthquake of 3 to 3.9 magnitude occurs, it feels as if a truck has passed by.

- Windows can break in an earthquake of 4 to 4.9 magnitude. Frames hanging on walls can fall.

- The furniture of the house can shake in an earthquake of 5 to 5.9 magnitude.

- An earthquake of 6 to 6.9 magnitude can crack the foundation of buildings, upper floors can get damaged.

- Buildings collapse in an earthquake of 7 to 7.9 magnitude. Pipelines under the ground burst.

- Along with buildings, big bridges can also collapse in an earthquake of 8 to 8.9 magnitude.

- An earthquake of 9 or more magnitude causes massive destruction. If someone is standing in the field, he will see the earth shaking. If the sea is nearby, a tsunami can occur.

Summary

There are seven tectonic plates inside the earth. These plates keep rotating continuously. When these plates collide with each other, rub against each other, climb over each other or move away from each other, then the ground starts shaking. This is called an earthquake.
