Gujarat government announced Space Tech Policy 2025-2030

Space Tech Policy: The Gujarat government on Thursday announced a new policy for the space tech industry. Many types of financial help and incentives will be available in this policy. Its name is 'Space Tech Policy 2025-2030'. In the meanwhile, the special thing is that Gujarat has become the first state in the country to do so. Under this policy, all activities related to the space sector will be given financial and non-financial assistance.

This includes things like manufacturing of satellite payloads and parts (such as communication and propulsion systems), ground stations, satellite control centers and space-based application design.

Gujarat launched new policy for the space tech industry

To effectively implement this policy, the Gujarat government will work in collaboration with ISRO, IN-SPACe and the Department of Space of the Central Government. The state government will also work towards creating a 'Center for Excellence' to promote skill development, research and innovation in space technology.

Will develop space manufacturing park

Along with this, the state government will develop a space manufacturing park in collaboration with IN-SPACe and the Department of Space. It will have shared technical facilities, which will give a good platform for strength and development to the companies associated with the space sector. The central government opened the space sector to private companies in June 2020 and IN-SPACe was created as a single window facility center.

Supported through startup program

Apart from the assistance provided under the Gujarat Electronics Policy, this new SpaceTech policy will also provide financial assistance to manufacturers in launch costs and patent filing. Companies related to ground segment, space applications and design will get incentives under the Gujarat IT/ITeS Policy (2022-27).

At the same time, startups working in the space sector will be supported through ICT and Deep Tech Startup Program

Indian Space Policy 2023

This policy will encourage investors and entrepreneurs to start and run space sector related businesses in Gujarat. The central government has implemented the 'Indian Space Policy 2023' and has also made such reforms, which will make foreign investment (FDI) and participation of private companies possible in all space related activities.

Summary

In this, satellite manufacturing, ground stations, startups and patent filing will get financial assistance. Space manufacturing parks and centers of excellence will also be built in collaboration with ISRO and IN-SPACe.
