The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Kazan city of Russia on a two-day (22-23 October) tour to attend the 16th BRICS summit.  Along with the BRICS conference, it is also important that PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with the leaders of other countries in Russia.

Though Russia, India's Ambassador Vinay Kumar has said that PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of BRICS member countries in Kazan.  Vinay Kumar said that in this conference, there will be a discussion on global issues like economic cooperation, climate change and international security.

Before leaving for Russia, PM Modi said in a post on X that I am leaving for Kazan of Russia to attend the BRICS summit. India gives great importance to BRICS, and I hope for widespread discussions on various topics. I am also eager to meet various leaders there.

PM Modi left for BRICS summit

During his visit, bilateral meetings are also expected with their counterparts and invited leaders of BRICS member countries

Earlier, India's Foreign Ministry gave information about PM Modi's visit to Russia and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia from 22-23 October on the invitation of Russian Union President Vladimir Putin. He will attend the 16th BRICS Summit to be held in Kazan under the chairmanship of Russia

This summit based on the topic, "to strengthen the multilateralism for justified global development and safety" will provide leaders a significant platform to discuss major global issues.

PM Modi's visit to Russia

The summit will provide a valuable opportunity to assess the progression of the initiatives initiated by the BRICS and identify potential areas for future cooperation. During his visit, the Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and invited leaders of BRICS member countries in Kazan, Russia.

Meanwhile during his last visit to Russia, PM held a bilateral meeting with President Putin. He was also awarded Russia's highest civilian honor Order of St. Andrew the Aptal in Kremlin, Moscow.

PM Modi may meet President of China

All though talking about the possible meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iran's President Masood Page Seshakian, India's Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar said that the situation is not clear yet, but the agenda of bilateral talks is being prepared. . He informed that bilateral meetings of PM Modi are currently under consideration.

Vinay Kumar said that which meetings will be decided in the end, you will have to wait a little. The meeting is taking place between Russia and Ukraine for the last 20 months and the growing struggle in the middle East

A day earlier, India and China have signed an agreement to retreat their soldiers on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and start patrolling again, which has increased the expectations of possible dialogue between PM Modi and Xi Jinping. This agreement is about patrolling in Deepsang and Demchok areas.

Bilateral talks with other countries in Kazan

Many other countries including Russia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa have been invited to the BRICS Summit.

BRICS was established in 2006 with Brazil, Russia, India and China, and in 2010 it was named 'BRICS' after connecting South Africa. The group represents a quarter of the global economy and is seen as an important economic power.
