Former US President Bill Clinton's health deteriorates, admitted in hospital
Former US President Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington on Monday after suffering from fever. Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff Angel Urena said in a statement, the former president was admitted to the hospital in the afternoon for testing and monitoring. Urena said, he appreciates the care he is receiving.
Bill Clinton is a Democrat who served two terms as President from January 1993 to January 2001. He addressed the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this summer and campaigned for Kamala Harris’s White House bid ahead of the November election.
Bill Clinton’s health deteriorated several times
In the years since Clinton left the White House, he has faced some health concerns. In 2004, he underwent bypass surgery after suffering from prolonged chest pain and shortness of breath. Clinton returned to the hospital in 2005 for surgery on a partially damaged lung and had a stent placed in his coronary artery in 2010.
Hospitalized in California
While Clinton lost weight by adopting a largely vegetarian diet, which significantly improved his health. In 2021, the former president was hospitalized for six days in California for treatment of an infection.
Clinton had a urine infection
Meanwhile one of his aides to the former president then said that he had a urine infection that later spread to his bloodstream, but Clinton condition was improving, and he never went into septic shock. The aide said Clinton was in the hospital's ICU at the time but was not receiving care here.
