The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. The fire broke out in the airport's cargo village, where imported goods are stored. Multiple agencies, including the Civil Aviation Authority, the Fire Service, and the Air Force, are working to extinguish the blaze.

According to several Bangladeshi media reports, the airport's executive director, Mohammad Masudul Hasan Masud, confirmed the situation at 3:45 p.m. and assured that emergency measures were being taken.
