The 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened his account with a boundary and then hit a six to accelerate his innings. Vaibhav completed his half-century in 25 balls with the help of 5 fours and three sixes. However, Vaibhav was dismissed on the very next ball. Vaibhav was bowled by Muhammad Akram.
In the match against Malaysia, Indian captain Ayush Mhatre disappointed, scoring only 14 runs. Vice-captain Vihan also contributed only 7 runs. Captain Ayush had also failed to play a big innings against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan earlier.

In that match, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 171 runs off 95 balls with the help of 14 sixes and 9 fours. Then India registered a resounding 90-run victory over the Pakistani team. The Indian team will play its semi-final on December 19.
