Kanlaon volcano erupts again in Philippines, while 87,000 people rescued

Philippines Volcano Eruption: A massive explosion has occurred in the Kanlaon volcano of the Philippines. After the explosion, a cloud of ash spread thousands of meters in the sky. The administration has ordered the evacuation of the surrounding villages and relief work is going on. The Civil Defense Office of the Philippines said that due to the eruption of the Kanlaon volcano, about 87,000 people have been rescued with immediate effect and taken to a safe place.  

Eruptions have happened before as well

Kanlaon volcano located on the island of Negros is at an altitude of 2,400 meters (about 8,000 feet) above sea level of the Philippines. Although this is one of active volcanoes in the Philippines. This volcano has erupted many times before and it has always been a sign of danger for the villages located near it.

Kanlaon is an active volcano

The Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has raised the warning level. The institute has warned that an eruption has started which could turn into bigger explosions in the future. This volcano is spread across the provinces of Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental on Negros Island and is one of the most active volcanoes in the country.

Philippines is located in the 'Ring of Fire' zone

It is worth noting that the Philippines is located in the 'Ring of Fire' of the Pacific Ocean, which makes it vulnerable to earthquakes and volcanic activities. However, there are 24 active volcanoes in the Philippines, of which Kanlaon is one. Volcanic eruptions and earthquake activities are often seen here, which is a big threat to local residents.
