KKR vs CSK: Kolkata’s Playoffs bid suffers blow as Chennai Super Kings wins by two wickets

KKR vs CSK IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have achieved a thrilling 2-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 57th match of IPL. This is the first time that Chennai has chased a target after losing 5 wickets in the powerplay. The team achieved the target of 180 runs in 19.4 overs for 8 wickets. Captain MS Dhoni returned unbeaten after scoring 17 runs.

Chennai spoiled Kolkata's game

Dewald Brevis scored 52 runs in 25 balls and Shivam Dubey scored 45 runs in 40 balls. Urvil Patel scored 31 runs in 11 balls. Vaibhav Arora took 3 wickets. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakraborty got 2-2 wickets. Kolkata won the toss and chose to bat at Eden Gardens Stadium and scored 179 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 48 runs.. Noor Ahmed took 4 wickets. He was chosen as the Player of the Match.

Chennai Super Kings won by 2 wickets, difficult road for Kolkata

Chennai has won this match by 2 wickets. Dhoni had sealed the victory by hitting a six on the first ball of the 20th over. Then Anshul Kamboj hit a four to give the team victory.

With this win of Chennai, the road ahead for Kolkata has become difficult. Now the Knight Riders will be able to reach only 15 points, which means the team will have to depend on others.
