New Rule: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a new memorandum mandating that heads of government hospitals file an Institutional First Information Report (FIR) within six hours of any violence against healthcare workers. The directive, announced on Friday, requires swift action to address and report incidents of violence. According to the memorandum, signed by Atul Goel of the Union Director General of Health Services (DGHS), “In the event of any violence against any health care worker while on duty, the Head of Institution shall be responsible for filing an Institutional FIR within a maximum of 6 hours of the incident,” as reported by ANI on X.
