Amazon's cloud center in the UAE hit by Iranian attack, shut down after fire
Amazon has reported that power to one of its data centers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been temporarily cut off.
Fires have been reported at data centers in the UAE. Amazon's cloud unit, AWS, reported this. Amazon stated that power to one of its data centers in the UAE had to be temporarily cut off. The reason behind this was that something struck inside the data center, causing sparks and a fire. Following this, the UAE is currently facing retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Iran. These attacks occurred following attacks by the US and Israel on Iran. Iranian attacks have targeted airports, ports, and residential areas across the country and the wider Gulf region.
During the attack, something struck the data center, causing sparks and has now been shut down.
What are data centers?
Amazon Data Centers are large server centers run by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Thousands and millions of computer servers operate simultaneously here. These servers store and process data for websites, apps, and online services worldwide. Their absence would severely impact internet service.
