Severe pollution in Delhi-NCR has made breathing difficult

Delhi NCR Weather Update: As the cold in Delhi increases, the air is becoming more toxic. The air quality in Delhi is deteriorating day by day, and air pollution is increasing. For four days, a thick blanket of smog has enveloped Delhi, blocking the sun's view. Today, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded 294, which falls in the poor category. The most polluted areas in Delhi are Chandni Chowk, Jahangirpuri, ITO Chowk, Narela, RK Puram, and Rohini. Given the current situation, while GRAP-2 regulations are in effect in Delhi, entry of BS4 vehicles has also been banned from November 1st. People have been urged to cooperate with the government to reduce air pollution and are advised to wear masks when outside.

Weather Conditions in Delhi-NCR

Air pollution is severe in Delhi and adjacent Noida, with a slight haze in the morning and evening, but the smog is preventing cold. The minimum and maximum temperatures in Delhi have increased over the past 24 hours. Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 21.6 degrees Celsius, making people feel humid. Winds from the west blew at a speed of 12 kilometers per hour.

What will the weather be like for the next six days?

According to the IMD report, a western disturbance is becoming active from November 3rd, affecting the Himalayan region. Consequently, snowfall and rain are expected in the hilly states. Due to this, Delhi will experience light clouds and a chance of drizzle on November 4th. Fog is then expected in the morning and evening, leading to a cold front. Additionally, from November 1st to November 6th, the sky will remain clear, with fog in the morning and evening.

Big Step Against Air Pollution

The government has taken a major step to curb the increasing air pollution in Delhi. A ban on BS-3 petrol and diesel vehicles has been implemented in the capital starting today. Delhi's air quality has reached the severe category. In light of this, the CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management) has taken a strict stance. BS-3 petrol and diesel vehicles will no longer ply on Delhi's roads starting today.

Severe pollution in Delhi-NCR

Approximately 137,000 vehicles from Noida and approximately 1.75 lakh vehicles from Ghaziabad will not be able to enter Delhi from today. To address this, checking is being conducted at 23 checkpoints in Delhi starting at 12 midnight. The government has appealed to drive less and use public transport so that clean air can be breathed again in Delhi.
