IPL 2026: Rishabh Pant Trains With Yuvraj Singh in Mumbai Ahead of New Season
Rishabh Pant trained with Yuvraj Singh in Mumbai ahead of IPL 2026 as franchises step up preparations for the upcoming season.
Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant trained with former India all rounder Yuvraj Singh in Mumbai last week as part of his preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League season.
The two spent around four days training at the Brabourne Stadium. The sessions included batting practice during both day and night, with Pant trying out a variety of white ball shots.
Pant, 28, is aiming for a stronger performance this season after a disappointing campaign last year.
"He shares a good personal equation with Yuvraj and the two had discussed the possibility of working together for a few days. It materialised last week," a source close to them said.
Yuvraj Singh, widely regarded as one of India’s leading white ball players, has developed a reputation as a mentor for young cricketers. He has previously worked with players such as Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill and Prabhsimran Singh.
Abhishek Sharma in particular has emerged as a prominent T20 batter, with Yuvraj often credited for playing a role in his development.
The training stint is also seen as an effort to strengthen Pant’s white ball career. He has not represented India in limited overs formats since August 2024.
After completing the sessions in Mumbai, Pant travelled to Chennai where Lucknow Super Giants are holding a preparatory camp at the Coaching Beyond ground.
The camp is being supervised by bowling coach Bharat Arun and batting coach Lance Klusener. Players attending the camp include Ayush Badoni, Mohsin Khan, Himmat Singh, Digvesh Singh, Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav.
The camp will shift to Lucknow after March 15. Lucknow Super Giants will begin their season against Delhi Capitals in Lucknow on April 1.
Rajasthan Royals Begin Preseason Camp
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals announced that their first preseason training camp will begin in Jaipur from March 17.
The squad will train at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium with sessions focused on fitness, nets practice and team preparation.
The franchise said the camp will take place under the guidance of head coach and director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara and will focus on team bonding, intensive training and planning for the season.
Earlier, a smaller group of players including Ravi Bishnoi, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sandeep Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja attended a short camp and fitness assessment at the franchise’s High Performance Centre in Nagpur.
Rajasthan Royals will begin their season against Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati on March 30.
