Pratika Rawal Returns to India ODI Squad for Australia Series After Injury
Pratika Rawal returns to India ODI squad for Australia series after completing ankle injury rehabilitation at BCCI COE.
India batter Pratika Rawal has been added to the ODI squad for the upcoming Australia series after recovering from injury.
A press release issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India stated that Rawal has successfully completed her rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. She had sustained an ankle injury in October during India’s Women’s World Cup campaign.
Rawal was injured during the rain hit match against Bangladesh while fielding. She left the field and was replaced in the squad by Shafali Verma ahead of the semi final. Since then, she has not featured in any competitive cricket and underwent a long recovery process.
Earlier, Rawal was also named in the squad for the one off Test scheduled after the Australia WODIs.
Despite being out of action, Rawal earned a central contract from the BCCI following a strong start to her international career. She was also picked by UP Warriorz for the 2026 edition of the Women's Premier League. However, she did not feature in the tournament due to her recovery. She is yet to play a Women’s T20I for India.
The ODI series against Australia women's national cricket team begins on February 24 in Brisbane. The remaining two matches will be played in Hobart. Perth will host the one off Test.
