Delhi Assembly Security Breach: A major incident occurred within the premises of the Delhi Assembly on Monday, around 2:00 PM. A vehicle approached at high speed, smashed through the Assembly's barricade, and drove straight inside. The driver of the vehicle left a bouquet inside the complex before fleeing the scene. A photograph of the suspect—who is seen holding a bouquet in his hand and carrying a black bag on his shoulder—has now surfaced, and he has subsequently been apprehended.

The accused has been identified as Sarabjit Singh. The incident has raised questions regarding the security arrangements, and the police are currently investigating his motives.

Around 2:00 PM, a white Tata Sierra car approached Gate No. 2 of the Delhi Assembly at a very high speed. The vehicle did not stop; instead, it rammed directly into the barricade. The barricade collapsed, and the car drove into the complex premises. People present at the scene were thrown into a panic; a loud crash was heard, and people began running in all directions.

The Speaker of the Delhi Assembly had received threats via email on three separate occasions over the past few days. The Delhi Police had been duly informed of these threats. Now, following this major security breach, serious questions are being raised regarding the efficacy of the security arrangements.

What Happened Next?

The car drove inside, a bouquet was left near the Speaker's vehicle, and then the car reversed, rammed through the barricade once again, and sped away from the scene. The entire incident unfolded within a span of just five minutes. When a security guard rushed toward the vehicle, it sped out of the complex.

Where Was the Bouquet Left?

The bouquet in question was found placed outside the office of the Assembly Speaker. Initially, it was unclear what the bouquet might contain. The police conducted an inspection; fortunately, no explosive device or suspicious object—such as a bomb—was found inside it.

Who Is the Suspect?

Approximately two hours after the incident, the police apprehended the suspect. He was arrested in the Roopnagar area, along with his vehicle. He has been identified as Sarabjit Singh. The vehicle is registered under a Uttar Pradesh license plate.

In the photograph of him that has now surfaced, he is seen holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand and carrying a black bag on his shoulder. The police are attempting to ascertain the contents of the bag and determine his motive behind this entire incident.

Major Questions Arising from the Incident

This incident raises several significant questions. How did a vehicle manage to enter a highly secure location like the Delhi Legislative Assembly with such ease? CRPF personnel were deployed at the site; how, then, did this still occur? What was the suspect's intention? If his sole objective was merely to present a bouquet, what was the necessity of ramming through the gate to gain entry? The police are currently seeking answers to all these questions, and the interrogation remains ongoing.
