India vs England: India has secured its place in the T20 World Cup 2026 final by defeating England in the semi-final. This was the second semi-final of this T20 World Cup, in which India defeated England by 7 runs. Now, in the final of the tournament, India will face New Zealand, who defeated South Africa in the first semi-final. To win the second semi-final, India set a record target of 254 runs, which England failed to chase.

Bethle's century went in vain, England eliminated

England could only manage 246 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. The most successful batsman for England was Jacob Bethle, who scored a brilliant century in the semi-final. Jacob Bethell scored 105 runs in 48 balls with the help of 7 sixes. This was his first century of his T20 International career. However, despite Bethell's century, England remained away from victory.

Pandya was the most successful bowler

Hardik Pandya was the most successful bowler for India, taking 2 wickets for 38 runs in 4 overs. Six bowlers bowled for India in the semi-final, taking 5 wickets each. Except Pandya, the other four bowlers took 1 wicket each.

India made the highest knockout score

After winning the toss, England captain Harry Brooke put India in to bat first. Batting first, the Indian team scored 253 runs in 20 overs, which is the highest score in a T20 World Cup knockout match. Sanju Samson's powerful half-century played a key role in India's achievement, providing the team with the start they needed to reach 253.

Sanju Samson scored 89 runs off 42 balls at a strike rate of over 211, including seven sixes. Shivam Dube scored the second-highest scorer, scoring 43 runs off 25 balls. Hardik Pandya scored 27 runs off 12 balls, while Tilak Verma scored 21 runs off 7 balls.

This will be Team India's fourth T20 World Cup final, and its second consecutive final.
