'We wanted extradition of Lawrence gang members from Canada, but...', Foreign Ministry lashes out at Trudeau government
Though this statement of the Foreign Ministry has come at a time when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has named Lawrence Bishnoi a day earlier. Trudeau alleged that Indian diplomats were obtaining information of Canadian citizens and sending it to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However Indian government had sought the extradition of Lawrence Bishnoi gang members from Canada a few years ago, but there was no response from Canada. The Foreign Ministry gave this information on Thursday. Till now Canada has not yet responded to it. The demand for extradition of these people was raised. Even though the Ministry of External Affairs said that the names of Gurjeet Singh, Gurjinder Singh, Arshdeep Singh Gill, Lakhbir Singh Landa and Gurpreet Singh were handed over to Canada. Their extradition was demanded. In fact, this conflicts between India and Canada started when unknown assailants shot dead Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18, 2023. Nijjar was the head of the Khalistan Tiger Force and India had declared him a terrorist. Both countries have expelled six diplomats of each other. In the meanwhile, on Wednesday, Trudeau admitted that he had only handed over intelligence related to the Nijjar murder case to India. There was no evidence. That is, no such evidence has been given against India by Trudeau or Canada so far.
